As new global markets develop and become attractive, traditional producers face increasing competition. In his book The World is Flat, Thomas L. Friedman describes how the powerful forces of globalisation are flattening the world as we know it. The wine industry is no exception, and here is an example of a label designed in South Africa, wine sourced from Argentina, and the finished product sold in Holland.
Brimstone’s design brief was to create a property for a range of wines that reflected the vibrancy and seductiveness of the tango – Dos Ochos (double eight) is a dance step that in fact vaguely forms a figure eight. If you look carefully at the illustration you can see a figure eight in arrows.
